The eagle has landed (or so).

In case you haven’t heard yet: now we both have arrived. Seraina a week ago, Jérôme two weeks ago. Here some answers to the FAQ:

1. How are you? – We are fine, thanks. How about you?
2. How is work? – Seraina: still the same job, just different location. But a bit far from our current home, so I haven’t been at uni much, yet. Jerome: BUSY! I have been to Kansas City already presenting at the Petfood Forum 2023.
3. How is the apartment hunt? – Lease signed for a two bedroom apartment in St. Anthony West with skyline view.
4. How is the beer selection? – So far, we have always found beers to our liking. Lots of breweries all over.
5. How is driving there? – Not as bad as expected, but there is a lot of traffic.
6. Have you seen many exciting birds yet? – In our temporary home (thanks to Buhler btw. for getting us a roof over our head for the first month or so) we have a pond in the backyard. Its full of different species of ducks, geese and all sorts of colorful birds. Plenty of American Robins, Red Winged Black Birds etc. Yesterday a Short-Eared Owl was being chased through the threes by three crows. There are also cute bunnies, since a few days the frogs started singing and the trees are a little bit greener every day.
7. Have you gained weight already?/How is the food? – We have found stores that sell quite normal food (surprise!). Jerome has broken his record running 5k and has so far lost some weight 🙂
8. Have you bought a car yet? – No! We are driving around with a rented SUV for now. (Jerome: Its a VW Tiguan)
9. How do you like it overall? – The little bit we’ve seen so far is nice. There are some things that we still need to get used to, like calculating tip in a restaurant.
